TAKING CHESS FURTHER

Many children across Teesside play Chess outside of schools and some have even advanced to a level where they play against adults in the local league. As well as being great fun and a useful skill, Chess is also a very cheap hobby to take up! There are several ways of taking Chess further:


CSC Library Sessions

Chess in Schools and Communities (CSC) run Chess for All sessions in local libraries. These are for anyone including adults, but the majority of attendees are children. These sessions are suitable for complete beginners:

Some local chess clubs have a junior (under 18) section which is usually for 1 hour before the main club night. These sessions would expect the players to at least be familiar with the rules of the game:
